The book launch took place on Sunday the 20th of May 2007 at QPAC, in Brisbane, during the Festival of Classics event. The Festival of Classics marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Jean Sibelius and the 150th anniversary of the birth of Edgar Elgar. The Festival is organised by 4MBS and QPAC in Brisbane.
The book launch took place at Lyrebird restaurant during The Haunting Flute of Finland event after the Gala Performance. The restaurant served a fixed menu of everyday Finnish foods: pea and ham soup, raw salmon, cabbage rolls and blueberry cake. Unfortunately the event started half an hour late because of the earlier Festival Gala Performance at the Concert Hall running late. The idea was that I would go to the QPAC Shop after the launch to sign books.
Unfortunately the launch speeches were organised towards the end of the event so I missed the signing at the shop. My sincere apologies to those who did not come to the restaurant but only to the shop and did not find me there. Please contact me if you missed me on the day.

Kirjan julkistaminen tapahtui sunnuntaina 20.5.2007 QPACissa (Queensland Performing Arts Centre), Brisbanessa, Festival of Classics-tapahtuman yhteydessä. Festival of Classics juhlii Jean Sibeliusta ja Edgar Elgaria. Edellisen kuolemasta tulee kuluneeksi tänä vuonna 50 vuotta, jälkimmäisen syntymästä 150 vuotta. Festivaalin järjestäjinä toimivat paikallinen klassisen musiikin radioasema 4MBS sekä QPAC.
Kirjan julkistaminen tapahtui Lyrebird-ravintolassa The Haunting Flute of Finland-tapahtuman yhteydessä. Menu oli keskittynyt suomalaisiin kotiruokiin: hernekeittoon, graaviloheen, kaalikääryleisiin ja mustikkakakkuun. Tapahtuma alkoi puoli tuntia myöhässä johtuen edellisestä Festival Gala-esityksen pitkittymisestä konserttihallissa. Alkuperäisen suunnitelman mukaan minun piti olla QPACin kirjakaupassa tavattavissa julkistamisen jälkeen. On myöskin valitettavaa, että julkistamispuheiden pito oli järjestetty Lyrebird-ohjelman loppuun, joten en ehtinyt kirjakauppaan laisinkaan.
